What’s Your Motive

James 4:3 NLT
And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

In this scripture, James tells the Saints a key reason they did not receive when they asked God for a specific request. It was because their motives were wrong. James is letting us know when we pray with the wrong motives our prayers will not be answered. The wrong motive is asking to satisfy our personal and lustful pleasures. God delights in our prosperity, but he wants us to be a church he can use to bless others. He told Abraham he would bless him to bless others. If you have not received answers to your prayers, check your motives for asking. God has blessed you to win in life and he will overflow your cup to bless others.

Prayer- Father, forgive me for praying with selfish motives. It is your will that I receive increase in my life to bless others. I thank you for blessing me as you blessed Abraham to be a blessing to others. In Jesus name, amen.
