Walk in Love

1 John 4:7-8; 4:16 nlt
Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. 8 But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love… We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.

Romans 12:9; 13:8,10
Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law.

John 13:35
Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

The most powerful force in the universe is love. God is love and we are born again from a seed of love. Love is our new spirit nature. We have the ability to love in a way that the world cannot comprehend. Sure, our old flesh nature will try to make us act out of love, but we must purpose to love everyone as we are instructed to in the word. It is easy to love someone when they are easy to get along with, always agreeable, and never rub us the wrong way, but we must love those who persecute us, are envious of us, and may do things to hurt us. We must pray for them and love them. The word says we must master evil with kindness and it will be as if we are heaping fires of coal on the haters. We are loved by God and we will love one another as God loves everyone.

Prayer- Father, you are love and I am born of your love. Many times I get angry and lose control and do something, or say something because of this emotional anger. I am tempted sometimes to be jealous and envious of others. Sometimes I am critical and I judge the actions of others, not their intention. Sometimes I have a pity party because it seems like you are blessing others more than me. Father, I don’t want to compete, be envious, critical, judgmental, easily provoked, and easily offended of anyone especially the members of the body of Christ. Father, I pray your love increase in my life in what I do and what I say to my family, church family, and co-workers. I pray by the power of the Holy Ghost, I walk in love with everyone so that everyone will know I am your disciple.
