Jehovah Tsidkenu

Jeremiah 23:6
In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

In the old Covenant, God revealed himself to his people by his name. The meaning of the name reveals the nature and characteristics of our God. Jesus is the word of God who became human. There are several Jehovah component names of God that will help us to understand the nature of our God and Jesus Christ.
Our God is Jehovah Tsidkenu: the Lord our righteousness. Notice, the Lord is our righteousness. This frees us from trying to be righteous through good works.

In the New Covenant, Jesus became sin for us so that we can be righteous with God in Christ Jesus. When we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, all our past sins are put to his account and we receive his righteousness by faith. We make an exchange, he takes our sin and we receive his righteousness. This is amazing. God, in His great love for us, placed our sin on his Son, Jesus Christ, so that we can be right with him. We are no longer sinners, we are the righteousness of God in Christ. Sure, we will still miss the mark and sin, but if we confess our sins, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Jesus Christ is our Jehovah Tsidkenu; our righteousness. We always win because we are right with God in Christ Jesus. We don’t have to try and work to be right with God. We are right with him now, by faith in Jesus Christ. You need to shout, “I am right with God!”

Prayer – I thank you, Father, for giving me your righteousness as a gift because of my faith in Jesus Christ. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Amen!
