Lord of Compassion

Psalm 103:13 NLT
The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

God is our creator and the Heavenly Father to all those who are born again, recreated, and regenerated spiritually. God is our Father and he lets us know he treats us as his children. Hallelujah! Since we are his children we have a relationship with him that cannot be changed. Regardless of what we do, we will always be his children. The word says, God is compassionate to us because we are his children.
The story of The Prodigal Son give us insight into the compassion of God, our Father. The prodigal son took his inheritance, went away from his Father, and made a mess of his life. One day he woke up out of the worldly, mental fog the devil had him in and he returned to his father’s house. The amazing thing is the reaction of his father. His father didn’t condemn him, but was merciful (compassionate) toward him and treated him as a son. This is how God treats us.
When we miss the mark, God doesn’t treat us as an outcast, but as a Son of God. We are born into God’s royal family and nothing can ever change that. When we miss it we can confess our sins and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We win because God is our father and we are his sons and daughters!

Prayer – Father, I thank you for the amazing relationship I have with you because of Jesus Christ. I am a child of the most high God. God is my father. Amen!
