Love In Action (2)

John 4:4 – 10 TLB
He had to go through Samaria on the way, and around noon as he approached the village of Sychar, he came to Jacob’s Well, located on the parcel of ground Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Jesus was tired from the long walk in the hot sun and sat wearily beside the well.  Soon a Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus asked her for a drink. He was alone at the time as his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food. The woman was surprised that a Jew would ask a “despised Samaritan” for anything—usually they wouldn’t even speak to them!—and she remarked about this to Jesus. He replied, “If you only knew what a wonderful gift God has for you, and who I am, you would ask me for some living water!”

God is love, therefore, everything Jesus did was an expression of God’s love for us. Everyone is special and Dear to God. Regardless of the lifestyle a person is living, God loves them and desires for them to believe in Jesus Christ so that they may experience the good life Jesus purchased for them on the cross. In this segment of scripture, Jesus takes quality time to minister to a woman that was, by law, considered an outcast. This expression of love speaks volumes about the depth of God’s love for us. Regardless of what your past or present lifestyle is, God loves you. You can never go too far in sin that is beyond the reach of God’s love. It was necessary for Jesus to go to Samaria at this appointed time to minister God’s love to this lost and hurting woman. Christ lives in us and we are compelled by his love in us to do what he did for this special lady. We have received the love of God and we win in life because of his love working in us by the Holy Spirit and we are excited as Jesus was to share God’s love with others. Our love is a fact because our love is expressed through loving acts to others we know and don’t know. We love everyone as God loves.

Prayer – Father, I thank you for loving me, therefore, I gladly love others and desire everyone to receive your love through faith in Jesus Christ. Help me to always demonstrate my love for others as you love me.
