2021 Reading Week 5

February Readings

Day 1: John 3:16

We know what real love is from Christ’s example in dying for us. And so we also ought to lay down our lives for our Christian brothers.

Day 2: John 15:13

And here is how to measure it—the greatest love is shown when a person lays down his life for his friends;

Day 3: 1 John 4:18

We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly; his perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what he might do to us. If we are afraid, it is for fear of what he might do to us and shows that we are not fully convinced that he really loves us.

Day 4: 1 John 4:19

So you see, our love for him comes as a result of his loving us first.

Day 5: Romans 5:8

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Day 6: Ephesians 2:4-5

But God is so rich in mercy; he loved us so much that even though we were spiritually dead and doomed by our sins, he gave us back our lives again when he raised Christ from the dead—only by his undeserved favor have we ever been saved—

Day 7: Romans 8:35

Who then can ever keep Christ’s love from us? When we have trouble or calamity, when we are hunted down or destroyed, is it because he doesn’t love us anymore? And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with death, has God deserted us?
